Working Mom Clothing Style Wish List - Chic and Comfortable

If I’m going to flex as a working mom, why not embrace all of the imbalance, multi-tasking, schedule blocking, self-care mini-sessions, and late evening/early morning flex time.  Lean into my own version of “working mom aesthetic”, which might be trendy, classic or eclectic, and will definitely up my game when I walk into a room or virtual space..

Some days I wake up feeling extra sensitive to any fabric that touches my body.  It usually has to do with either a killer workout the night before or finishing my daughter’s plate because I worked really hard making that meal and I’m not letting it go to waste!

I want flowy and forgiving, perfect sleeve length, soft and silky fabrics, or a stretchy waist.

Working hybrid can also mean occasionally setting up shop at that new cafe down the road.  A great occasion to work in edgy, sporty, and comfortable style. Keep a blazer or leather jacket nearby for that last minute Zoom meeting.

Laundry, laundry, laundry….Some days I fall behind. Give me multiple, understated, high quality pieces in my closet that can effortlessly make me look fit, comfortable, yet professional.  Outfits that can be easily re-worked. Simple chic with an unexpected twist.

Then there’s marathon day – drop off, start emails, block out the week for team projects, pick up, finalize project, answer more emails, Zoom meeting, second Zoom meeting, gymnastics practice, run to the grocery store, go home and use my flex time for the next day’s presentation.

Working Mom Style Wish List

Since multi-tasking is out, how do working mom’s do it? We need to be intuitive and take the time to know what makes us feel beautiful, competent, and balanced.  We need to practice expressing ourselves in thoughtful ways that we’ve organized ahead of time.  Since we don’t live on an island, let’s all realize that those around us respond more favorably to people that have made an effort and look a bit more polished. It is not about pleasing others, it is about inspiring them with the way we express our unique selves and building connections and relationships to enhance our quality of life.
